Discover Flemish cycling culture with Visit Flanders
Flanders is a region in northern Belgium with a rich, historic cycling culture. Cycling culture is evident on the streets with the cobbles playing host to some of the most iconic bicycle races, around the bars with souvenirs from local races hanging on the walls and in the cities with their bike-friendly paths and well-signed routes connecting different parts of the region.
Cycling in Flanders is a way of life for many people with scenic paths going through the countryside, alongside rivers and the occasional challenging cobbled hill to keep things interesting!
For 2024, we have launched a new self-guided cycling holiday in Flanders that starts in Brussels and visits some of Flanders’ most famous cities, including Antwerp, Ghent, and Bruges. There will be plenty of time to visit the famous galleries, cultural gems, and UNESCO-listed sites as you cycle from place to place.
We have teamed up with the UK office of Visit Flanders to offer a prize for one lucky winner to celebrate our new route launch. In the cycling-inspired Flanders musette bag, you’ll receive a box of fine Belgian chocolates and tasty premium butter biscuits from Jules Destrooper, the renowned Flanders-based biscuit manufacturer.
