Find your peace on each day of the itinerary

As experts in cycling and walking holidays, the Active on Holiday team understands that the right accommodation is key to a successful trip. Hotels serve as your retreat, offering the chance to relax and recharge before the next stage of your journey. Whether you’re staying in a luxurious suite or a modest room, the memories created during your trip will stay with you forever.

The goal is to ensure you can unwind, recover, and rest well after a day of activity. Whether you move to a new accommodation each day or stay in one place, the specific needs of active travellers are always prioritised when selecting hotels, guesthouses, and inns. In addition to a central location and a good breakfast, a comfortable hotel room with a quality bed is essential for a restful stay.

Hotels with great facilities and locations

"Small but nice!" is the motto we follow when selecting our accommodations. These charming, rustic establishments offer cozy rooms and a warm welcome to tired travellers, allowing you to experience the authentic hospitality of the region. In the restaurant (if available), you can enjoy delicious regional dishes, crafted with local ingredients and traditional family recipes passed down through generations. This creates a holiday experience that sets our active holidays apart from mass tourism. And who knows, perhaps the guesthouse owner will share their own personal insider tips for the next stage of your journey!

What to expect in each hotel or guesthouse

Thanks to the friendly, family atmosphere, you'll feel right at home in our accommodations from the very start. Hospitality is not just a buzzword for us; it’s an experience our guests truly enjoy in the hotels, guesthouses, and inns we select. During our cycling and walking trips, we aim to accommodate you in places where you can relax in a comfortable room, unwind in a cosy restaurant, or even enjoy a wellness centre.

Our accommodations are ideally located, as close as possible to the centre and the routes, depending on the hotel category you choose. Whether you’re an adventurous traveller or someone who prefers luxury and relaxation, we offer a range of hotels, from Category A to Charme, to suit every preference.

In some cases, the contracted hotels may be fully booked when you want to make your reservation. To ensure you still have a place to stay, we will purchase additional rooms or hotel types just for you.

Please note that these options may differ from the usual standard or incur a surcharge, but we will always inform you beforehand, and the decision is yours. Additionally, some extra costs, such as tourist taxes, charging fees, or storage fees for e-bikes, may be charged directly by the hotels. These costs cannot be included in the upfront travel price, but they can be paid locally.

Charm hotels for something extra special

Looking for that extra touch of luxury on your holiday? We offer a Charme variant for certain trips, featuring special hotels in exceptional locations, with enhanced facilities or more luxurious room types. From boutique hotels to fincas, castles to monasteries, and even stays with winegrowers in their vineyards or at Agriturismo properties, each offers its own unique charm and character.

In the Charme category, you’ll enjoy more than just a comfortable stay — you might find yourself in a more luxurious room with added extras, such as a spacious balcony, beautiful views, access to premium facilities, or even included transfers. Whether you’re looking for something truly special or simply a bit of indulgence, our Charme accommodations provide that little bit extra for a memorable experience.
