This is an excellent entry-level route for leisure cyclists who want to admire the magnificent, majestic landscape of Austria. The seven-day cycle tour travels between Innsbruck to Salzburg and through the picturesque Alps and valleys. This is a chance to cycle between two of Austria's most famous cities and a chance to combine Tyrolean customs paired with regal Salzburg.

Details of the cycle tour from Innsbruck to Salzburg

From Innsbruck, you cycle comfortably along the Inn Cycle Path with the towering Nordkette mountain range as your constant companion. Then it’s off to the idyllic Zillertal and over the Gerols alpine road by bus. On day four you will reach the Tauern cycle path, which is the best developed in the Salzburg area.

On the route: the largest waterfalls in Europe, embedded into a unique landscape. Along the Salzach River, you cycle to Zell am See and the Zeller Lake, where you can see the reflection of the snow-covered Kitzteinhorn. Your last river companion on the bike tour is the Saalach until you finally arrive in Salzburg.

Highlights of the Innsbruck to Salzburg cycle tour

  • The roaring Krimml waterfalls: Experience the unrestrained power of water up close and listen as it plummets 380 meters towards the earth!

  • Hohe Tauern National Park with fairy tale mountain scenery: Three thousand metre peaks, breathtaking scenery – and you are in the thick of it. The largest conservation area in Central Europe is home to the mightiest peaks in Austria and the largest glacial regions of the Eastern Alps.
