You will start in Pollença and make a detour to Alcúdia before returning to the Cuber Reservoir. The route continues through the sleepy villages of the Serra de Tramuntana and past the Coma Sema Estate. Enjoy the typical local cuisine of Mallorca and gather new strength for the next day. The walk continues through the Orient Valley. You will also pass the pilgrimage town of Castell d'Alaró. From the top of Penyal d'Honor, you have a beautiful view of the island.
The last phase of the walking holiday is reserved for the artist town of Deia. Finally, you will reach Sóller via the charming postal route and explore an old oil mill.
Route summary
We recommend good basic fitness for walking days of up to 5.5 hours. You will walk on good walking paths but on some stony sections, good walking shoes and surefootedness will be required. This is a hiking tour with numerous panoramic views of the tops of the Tramuntana mountains, seashore, sea, and green valleys.
Located at the foot of the Serra de Tramuntana, a typical Majorcan town, Pollença, awaits you. You can stroll through the narrow streets of the old town, drink a "Café con Leche" in the Plaza Mayor or walk the cypress-lined hills and enjoy the panoramic view.
One of Majorca's "walking classics" is a tour of the La Victòria peninsula, which lies between the Bay of Pollença and Alcúdia. The route leads along the shoreline and up to a dreamy peak. A winding path with panoramic views and the opportunity to swim in the turquoise-blue bay of Coll Baix takes you back through the rolling hills to Alcúdia.
Short transfer to the Cuber Reservoir. An interesting landscape of tall grass, striking rocks and stony paths lie before you today. As you walk through the impressive Serra de Tramuntana, let your eyes wander over the sunny cliffs and fertile valleys at your feet. Through the Coma Sema estate, once one of the largest olive growers on the island, you reach the magical Orient Valley.
Today, exploring the Orient Valley, or Mallorca's Orchard, is on the agenda. The Burgberg is visible from afar on your way over the Coll d'Orient. Through holm oak forests and with a view of the picturesque landscape, you will walk towards Castell d`Alaro, a place of pilgrimage with a museum. On the way back you should definitely taste the specialities of Finca Es Verger.
On lonely paths, you leave Orient through a densely wooded mountain area with rocks on the northwest side. Hike to one of the peaks, the Penyals d`Honor, on your route towards Bunyola. Once at the top you have a panoramic view of the island and the bay of Palma. From Bunyola, take the “Red Lightning” tram to Sóller.
Transfer to the artist town of Deia, the jewel of the west coast. In the bay of Deia, your hike starts along the rocky coast and up to the romantic postal route to Sóller. In the background, the impressive coastal landscape will enchant you. A visit to an old oil mill, freshly squeezed orange juice and the path through countless olive groves round off this beautiful day.
