The island's distinctive appearance is shaped by its consistently diverse weather conditions. Your hiking journey begins in the lush northwest of Tenerife and takes you through the island's southern interior, along rugged coastlines, and past picturesque mountain villages.
Starting from the lively northwest coast along the Atlantic Ocean, this multifaceted week of hiking guides you through the striking volcanic terrain of black rock, eventually leading to the sun-drenched southwest. In the charming coastal town of Garachico, you'll be treated to breathtaking views of the expansive Atlantic Ocean and the verdant northern coast. Along the way, you'll traverse various vegetation zones, each with its own unique charm, and explore the alpine landscapes of the Teno mountain range.
A highlight to eagerly anticipate is the hike through the Masca Gorge, featuring towering rockfaces and unique flora. As you continue through the southwest, you'll follow ancient bridle paths and spend a night at the highest point in the Canary Islands. The grand finale of your hiking holiday culminates with an impressive walk through the island's largest National Park.

Hiking on an island is always a special experience and this hiking tour combines mountain and coastal hikes. So you not only enjoy views of the hilly landscape of Tenerife but also of the deep blue Atlantic Ocean.

Impressive contrasts: On the one hand, there are the black lava beaches and the white lunar landscape. Or the numerous hours of sunshine and the snow-capped Teide.
Spain's highest mountain: The Pico del Teide is the highest peak in the Canary Islands and even in all of Spain. From the Teide National Park, you have a wonderful view of the snow-white mountain peaks.
Masca Gorge: One of the hikes takes you straight through the Masca Gorge, which is only 30 meters wide at its narrowest point and where the cliffs rise 600 meters in height. A unique experience!
Note: Currently, it is not possible to hike through the Masca Gorge, so the optional hike on the Royal Route from Santiago del Teide to Los Gigantes takes place on this day (the boat trip on this day is omitted).

For eight days you will explore the island and its valleys, coasts and pretty villages. The demanding day tours are between 10 and 15 kilometres long and can be very demanding in some places.

The little town of Garachico lies on the wild, roaring Atlantic coast in the northwest of Tenerife. The old town, which is well worth seeing, surprises with beautiful mansions, churches and the Castillo San Miguel. The lava pools invite you to take a refreshing dip.
You hike through the young volcanic area of ​​Garachico on historic paths. The efforts of the ascent to the Ermita de San Francisco are rewarded with a fantastic view of the city below but above all of the Atlantic and the entire north coast. After a short break in San Juan del Reparo, we head back down to the sea through the fertile landscape past colourful flowers, cacti and agaves.
A fantastic hike from the sea to the mountains. Through lonely gorges, typical cultivated land and laurel forests, you will reach the tranquil mountain village of Erjos. You hike through the Teno mountains on beautiful mountain trails before you reach Santiago del Teide. On today's stage, you will cross several vegetation zones - a paradise for botany and animal lovers.
Panoramic transfer ride through terraced cultivation areas and past grazing herds of goats to the magical Teno mountains. Your hiking route first takes you up to a mountain ridge, where you can enjoy a wonderful all-around view. You hike along the ridge to the Tabaiba Pass and continue on a fantastic high-altitude trail. Here you have a fabulous view of the west coast and the mighty Masca Gorge with its black rocks. Passing the two gala summits, we return to Santiago del Teide.
From Santiago, we go to the remote mountain village of Masca, which impresses with its unique location amidst the green volcanic landscape and rugged rocks. After a short café cortado, you start your hike through the Masca Gorge, which captivates all hikers with its wild beauty. From Playa de Masca by boat to the resort of Los Gigantes for a night by the sea. As an alternative to the Masca gorge hike on the enchanting royal road directly to Los Gigantes, as the gorge is currently not accessible.
Transfer to the pretty village of Adeje, from where you hike through lonely mountain areas on old mule tracks, which used to be used to transport goods over the mountains. Terraced fields and forest accompany your panoramic view path, which leads high above the Höllenschlucht in the direction of Ifonche. A variety of paths take you to the idyllic mountain region of Arona below the mighty Teide massif.
On today's hike, you will experience another unique landscape of Tenerife. You hike to an over 1,800 m high vantage point below the Teide, from where you can see the "white lunar landscape". Bizarre sandstone formations have been formed on the slopes by wind, water and weather and awaken the viewer's imagination. A great contrast to the black lava rock of the past few days.
